For many years, the elderly wood carver known as Mr. Meacham has captivated the young residents of the area with his enchanting stories about a formidable dragon that dwells deep within the forests of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace, who serves as a diligent forest ranger, these narratives have always seemed fanciful and far-fetched... that is, until she encounters Pete, a peculiar 10-year-old boy without a family or a permanent abode, who insists that he resides in the woods alongside a colossal, emerald-hued dragon named Elliott. Strikingly, Pete's vivid descriptions of Elliott bear a remarkable resemblance to the dragon depicted in Mr. Meacham's legendary tales.
