Having parted ways with Mark Darcy half a decade ago, Bridget Jones finds that her fairy-tale ending has eluded her grasp. Approaching her forties as a single woman once more, she shifts her focus towards excelling in her role as a prominent news producer, while seeking solace in the company of both familiar faces and new acquaintances. Seemingly having all aspects of her life well in hand, Bridget's romantic life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters the charming American, Jack, during a weekend escapade at a music festival. Their encounter leads to a night of passion. Shortly thereafter, a chance meeting with the recently separated Mark results in another intimate encounter. In a surprising development, Bridget discovers she is pregnant, but with a perplexing dilemma - the true paternity of her child remains uncertain, leaving her torn between Mark and Jack.
