Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012)

In a remote southern Delta community known as 'the Bathtub', Hushpuppy, a fearless six-year-old girl, resides with her father, Wink. Wink's stern yet caring demeanor serves as her guide in preparing for the chaotic events that are set to unfold, a time when his protective presence may no longer be by her side. As Wink falls ill to a mysterious ailment, the natural order of things goes awry—temperatures soar, ice caps melt, and ancient creatures known as aurochs are unleashed upon the world. Faced with rising waters, encroaching aurochs, and her father's deteriorating health, Hushpuppy sets out on a quest to find her absent mother.
