The Train (1964)

In the backdrop of the approaching Allied forces in August 1944, German Colonel Von Waldheim is determined to seize France's priceless paintings and transport them to Germany. Despite the looming chaos of retreat, he secures a train for this daring mission. The French resistance, torn between protecting their national treasures and adhering to orders from London not to destroy them, stands in opposition. Amidst this conflict, the station master Labiche, a member of the diminishing resistance group, is entrusted with orchestrating the train's schedule smoothly. Together with his comrades, they craft an intricate plan to thwart the train's departure from French soil, determined to safeguard their cultural heritage.
