The Guardians (2012)

When 15-year-old Nina becomes a witness to a horrifying crime that endangers her life, her status as an orphan leaves her without a trustworthy ally. The corrupt tycoon Thomas Backer dispatches a team of five assassins to silence Nina, prompting Max, a witness protection agent and former elite soldier, to take charge of her safety. Gradually bridging their initial rift, Nina and Max forge an unlikely bond as they evade the relentless pursuit of Backer. Amidst the chaos, Rudi, a former colleague of Max, unexpectedly emerges to offer them aid in navigating treacherous circumstances. Even Max's ex-girlfriend Sara, now a federal prosecutor, lends a hand in their predicament. However, as the threats escalate, Nina finds herself not the sole individual in need of a guardian angel – Max, too, finds himself in desperate need of protection.
