In the year 140 AD, two decades following the puzzling vanishing of the complete Ninth Legion in the Scottish mountains, Marcus Aquila, a fresh-faced centurion from Rome, steps onto the scene with a mission in mind: to unravel the enigma and revive the honor of his father, who once led the Ninth.
