Ripley’s Game (2002)

In the luxurious setting of a villa in the Veneto region, the sophisticated and affluent Tom Ripley resides with his talented harpsichord-playing girlfriend, Luisa. A visit from a former associate from the shady underworld of Berlin presents Ripley with a unique proposition to assist in eliminating a rival. Ever the astute observer of human behavior, Ripley devises an intricate scheme to transform a meek and unsuspecting local framer, Jonathan Trevanny, into a hired assassin. Jonathan, a skilled craftsman grappling with a terminal illness, has a family depending on him and very little to bequeath them. As Ripley lures Jonathan into his dangerous game, the question arises: can Ripley maintain his grip on the situation? Will the violence stop at just one murder? And what happens if Ripley's conscience unexpectedly comes into play?
