OtherLife (2017)

Ren Amari, a determined creator, has developed a groundbreaking new substance. Known as OtherLife, this drug amplifies the perception of time in the brain and constructs immersive virtual worlds within the user's consciousness. Through the use of OtherLife, brief moments in reality transform into extended periods filled with thrilling exploits. As Ren and her team rush against the clock to introduce OtherLife to the public, the government intervenes with a bold plan to utilize the drug as a unique approach to alleviate prison overcrowding. Their scheme involves crafting virtual prison environments where offenders serve extensive sentences within a matter of minutes in the real world. When Ren opposes this idea, she inadvertently becomes a test subject, trapped in a mental prison cell against her will. To prevent a descent into madness and to avert a similar fate for others, Ren must break free from her mental confinement and reclaim control of OtherLife.
