In the Crosswind (2014)

In the early hours of June 14, 1941, a tragic event unfolds as over 40,000 individuals hailing from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are forcibly relocated to Siberia under Soviet rule. Among the displaced is Erna, a bright philosophy student and devoted mother to a young daughter. Plucked from her husband's side, Erna finds herself journeying to the distant lands of Siberia alongside fellow women and children. Despite enduring starvation, terror, and degrading treatment, Erna's spirit remains unbroken over the course of the following fifteen years, as she clings steadfastly to the flickering flame of freedom and dreams of one day returning to her homeland.
