Gloomy Sunday (1999)

Set in Budapest during the 1930s, the tale unfolds at a quaint eatery where Laszlo, the proprietor, enlists the talented pianist András to serenade guests. As fate would have it, both Laszlo and András become smitten with the enchanting waitress Ilona, whose beauty serves as András' muse for a haunting musical creation. Initially embraced for its melancholic charm, András' haunting composition, "Gloomy Sunday," soon becomes a source of dread as its sorrowful notes seem to provoke a series of tragic events. The delicate equilibrium of their romantic entanglement is disrupted when a German man named Hans enters the picture, finding himself falling for Ilona as well.
